Iris by the incredibly talented linuxchic of Nerd Girl Yarns |
Not only can this girl craft in a way that defies comprehension, she is just all around full of fabulousness that can't be contained.
When I reached out to her regarding this week, she didn't even hesitate before agreeing and a few days later, this bit of loveliness was in my mailbox waiting for me.
I absolutely love this colorway - full of every imaginable shade of purple that you can handle. It runs from deep plums to softer lavenders and lilacs. Pokey saw this sitting on my bookcase in the office and got really excited, asking if I was going to make him something with it. I had to break his heart and tell him that I am giving this beautiful skein to one lucky reader. Gotta love a man who gets excited when he sees a pretty skein of yarn sitting on a shelf.
Can you handle all of this awesomeness - I know, me neither!! |
These 400 yards of 4-ply gorgeousness are on her Zen Fingering base (60% Superwash Merino/20% Yak/20% Silk) and they can be in your hot little hands just by doing the following -

I find myself crafting with Purple the most, but then it is my favourite colour and Green seems to be the next used colour - I have no idea why ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for offering the giveaway, Amy! And huge thanks to linuxchic for sharing her gorgeous work with you so you can share it with your readers! :) LOVE the purples. And as I've never tried Nerd Girls Yarn, I'm particularly hopeful on this giveaway!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteoh! and you asked what color i find myself crafting with most? a million shades of blue! :)
ReplyDeleteI am usually crafting with greens it seems. I am not sure why as most of my stuff is amigurumi. I do use a good deal of just about every color. I love the shades of purple here though, it would make a lovely wrap.
ReplyDeleteI find I use a great deal of green, which surprises me as I am usually doing amigurumi. Softies need all colors. I do love all the shades of purple in this skein though, and think it would make a lovely wrap.
ReplyDeletePokey has good taste in yarn!
ReplyDeleteI mostly craft with blues and organs, however lately I've been making a lot of purple hats for charity. This is a beautiful skein of yarn.
ReplyDeleteBlues and ORGANS... ewww, Kristy!! ROFL... I know you mean oranges but that really gave me a giggle.
DeleteIris is lovely. I love purple. :)
ReplyDeleteI had to go look to confirm what I thought. In projects where I've actually listed the color, Green is the most often crafted, followed by grey. (proper Slytherin that I am) I thought that blue or purple would be most often crafted, but they came in, tied with pink, as third runners up.
and I realize now I need to start listing colors in my projects more often!
I find myself crafting with pinks and and pink variegated most often :) And this purple hued yarn is fanfriggintastic!
ReplyDeletePurple is the best colour!
ReplyDeletePurple and teals are my most favorite colors I have more purple projects completed - However, I use them all.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite colors to use are reds and purples.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! These are such yummy yarn!
ReplyDeleteAny and all shades of green!
ReplyDeleteLately it seems to be black. I need some color in my life! :)
