Anniversary Week - Pokey's favorite color, Day 2

Iris by the incredibly talented linuxchic of Nerd Girl Yarns
Another awesome Slytherin from The Harry Potter Knit and Crochet House Cup on Ravelry is linuxchic.

Not only can this girl craft in a way that defies comprehension, she is just all around full of fabulousness that can't be contained.

When I reached out to her regarding this week, she didn't even hesitate before agreeing and a few days later, this bit of loveliness was in my mailbox waiting for me.

I absolutely love this colorway - full of every imaginable shade of purple that you can handle.  It runs from deep plums to softer lavenders and lilacs.  Pokey saw this sitting on my bookcase in the office and got really excited, asking if I was going to make him something with it.  I had to break his heart and tell him that I am giving this beautiful skein to one lucky reader.  Gotta love a man who gets excited when he sees a pretty skein of yarn sitting on a shelf.

Can you handle all of this awesomeness - I know, me neither!!

These 400 yards of 4-ply gorgeousness are on her Zen Fingering base (60% Superwash Merino/20% Yak/20% Silk) and they can be in your hot little hands just by doing the following -

  6. I am usually crafting with greens it seems. I am not sure why as most of my stuff is amigurumi. I do use a good deal of just about every color. I love the shades of purple here though, it would make a lovely wrap.

  7. I find I use a great deal of green, which surprises me as I am usually doing amigurumi. Softies need all colors. I do love all the shades of purple in this skein though, and think it would make a lovely wrap.

  10. Iris is lovely. I love purple. :)

I had to go look to confirm what I thought. In projects where I've actually listed the color, Green is the most often crafted, followed by grey. (proper Slytherin that I am) I thought that blue or purple would be most often crafted, but they came in, tied with pink, as third runners up.

and I realize now I need to start listing colors in my projects more often!
