Plugging away on my two huge projects... even though they don't feel like I've made much progress |
So that is just what we're going to do.
Random milestone for me... this is my 888 post - and 8 is my lucky number so leave a comment on here about what you like to do when you need a break and I'll draw a surprise winner in 8 days. Good luck!!
Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteAnd I really like the look of your star.
I love that star blanket! My favorite thing to do on a break is to head to the mountains for the weekend. I really like the beach, but I LOVE the mountains. I love day hiking (all we can do with the littles, lol!) and just looking at the beautiful smokey mountains. If I don't have time to get to the mountains, I love just hanging out here and NOT doing housework, haha.
ReplyDeletehow generous of you! congrats on your milestone
ReplyDeleteWhen I need a break, I watch a couple movies, knit, and enjoy a glass of red wine or some tea. Congrats on the blog milestone and thanks so much for the giveaway! I'm Suzieknittingmama on Rav.
ReplyDelete8 is my lucky number too! Knitting always fits the bill when I need a break.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you guys do when you go to WDW - decide before hand which park you are going to? Or wing it when you get there? Just curious. My idea of a break - hunnker down with a book....
ReplyDeleteI'm a planner - I can't just "play it by ear"... that is actually my least favorite phrase in the universe. I'm not hardcore or anything thought. This trip, for an example, we're celebrating Hobbit's great work at school so she's in the driver's seat. We'll give her the map and follow her around the park. When we go on my birthday this December, I'll be the one who gets to pick and chose what we do and where we go. Once, we did all the parks in one day plus Downtown Disney for some shopping because we all chose one ride and we all wanted the bonus of the same ride... which just happened to be all over the place. It was a fabulous day!
DeleteI usually need a break when I'm at work and feeling overwhelmed by my to do list. I clear my head by taking a walk outside. I work for a college with a beautiful campus, and being able to just breathe in some fresh air, feel energized by the students, and watch squirrels running around makes me feel a million times better and ready to face the rest of my day.
ReplyDeleteI like to head for the hills in my Campervan. Knitting, books and hubby alongside. Peace.
ReplyDeleteYour star blanket is gorgeous! Have fun on vacation!

I'll be hard at work on my OWL this weekend, too! Have a great time with the fam this weekend! =}
ReplyDelete8 is a great lucky number. Love the colors of those granny squares.
ReplyDeleteDifferent kinds of breaks...into the woods, when I need inspiration. When I need rest, it's kicking back up with a seasonally-appropriate beverage, my knitting, and an audiobook.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your 888, and thanks for the giveaway :)

ReplyDeletegoing to florida monday! can't wait. Usually we take a day off and hang out.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous star blanket you have made. Congratulations on your post and have a delightful trip to WDW. I would love to go there as well or even just break away for an evening in a nice hotel.

I love the colors in your granny squares. They look very fallish.
ReplyDeleteWhen I need a break I will knit, or bead or quilt, or read, well you get the idea!
ReplyDeletecongrats!
ReplyDeletehave a great vacation.
When I get a break I like to read fiction
ReplyDeleteDisney was always a favorite when I lived in Tampa...but, now that I am in New Hampshire - my breaks consist of the White Mountains, the Green Mountains in Vermont, or the coast of Maine!

It depends what I need a break from, but for just a quick break I like to have a cup of tea - it takes a few minutes to make and a few more to drink, so it enforces some downtime, but I can have a cup at work without anyone thinking I'm a slacker.
ReplyDeleteIn other situations, I'll knit for a while or take a walk.
When I need a break, I sit on our patio, watch the squirrels and chipmunks prepare for winter, listen to the birds and watch the world go by.
ReplyDeleteWhen I need a break I go stay with my Mom and get some me time. She and I talk and laugh and eat yummy things. Plus she lets me sleep late and run around in my jammies until 10 LOL. Then we work in her garden, pulling weeds is relaxing when there is good conversations to go with it.

Since I don't often get time to myself anymore, my favorite way to take a "break" lately has been to take a walk - alone. I love my daughter but sometimes it's nice to get out and listen to nature and my own thoughts.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your 888! I do like that star...
ReplyDeleteI don't get many breaks. When I do, I love to find a little corner table at a nice cafe, order some chai latte and maybe a sandwich or salad, and knit happily in peace. (And pull out a book if/while I'm eating, of course...)
Thanks for the giveaway!!

Congratulations on your milestone!! Love your crochet projects!
ReplyDeleteI love to knit, of course, but I also love taking road trip vacations. I love to sit by the water -- ocean, lake, river -- and just listen.
ReplyDeleteWow, a trip to Disney World sounds fantastic. I hope to travel there someday!
ReplyDeleteLove your crochet
