And the winner is...

amchart's Double knitted scarf - isn't it neat!
I loved all the entries and it was so very hard to choose.  Everything was so fabulous and the stories about conquering fears and trying (or even failing) at new techniques were all inspiring.  I honestly have been going back and forth all day which one to choose - but I kept coming back to this project and this post ~

"Well, this can’t be counted as an entry, but I did want to post it as a Thank You. I saw the original blog post about the contest. FUN! I thought about it and decided on double knitting which I’ve never tried. Perhaps a simple hat. Then January happened -- my angel newborn turned into a Jekyl and Hyde fussy baby keeping me up all hours. Then there are the pesky tax forms for my hubby’s business. Thursday last week I received an e-mail link to this really cool double knit snowflake scarf. I immediately thought again of this contest. “I can knit that in a week” I says to myself. Reality check … fussy baby … six other kids. This is as far as I got. But I wanted to post just to say THANK YOU Peppermint Mocha Momma (love your name!) for the inspiration to do it. I’m fairly pleased with my first attempt at double knitting, but you can see I do need a little fine tuning."

It most certainly can be counted as an entry and not only that - it was the one that won me over.  I've sent you a message via Ravelry but let me congratulate you here as well.  Job well done, honestly stupendous effort!!  Congratulations!!

  1. Congrats to the winner! It's beautiful! (I and my lame "first-sock" bootie pretty much chickened out when I saw the other entries...I need more experience!)

    1. I did take notice that you were not apart of the festivities... I still think you should have submitted it because I have seen some of the things that you aren't tickled with and they are still very impressive. Easy up on yourself (yeah, I'm taking note for me as well... lol)... look at how fabulous your hat came out!

    1. It was a hard decision but I was just drawn to this scarf time and time again... and most definitely "Hooray" for contests and winners - both bring so much joy to the world.

  3. I think she had me rooting for her as winner with the lines in the beginning about her angel turning into Jekyll and Hyde! But looking at the scarf was so impressive also!

    1. Oh I know, especially since we're dealing with the loss of our lovely little girl who has been replaced by an attitude wielding primary school student.
