One A Day Update 1

I started on my One A Day this week.  I was really super excited too - then I remembered that I volunteer three times a week in the school library so sometimes I'm a "Two A Day" kinda girl.

I have a total of 11 squares so far and I'm not sure I'm really liking the plain pink ones.  I love the variegated around the pink and I have yet to make a full variegated one, although I have feeling I'll be testing that theory out soon too.  Maybe it's just the shade of the pink that is bugging me.  I do have a darker, more vibrant pink that I could try instead.  What do y'all think?

The color is a bit off but I had to use an overhead light since it's raining so please bare with me.

I also have been trying out different possible patterns so that I could begin sewing a few together at a time but I don't know which way I like them best yet.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I think I'm going to go and find that richer pink to see how it looks with this variegated because the baby pink is just so light and plain and boring to me now... maybe the other will give it that pop that I'm lacking.

  2. Very nice! I think bright pink would indeed be great! Or maybe a mixture of the soft pink and a brighter pink.

You sewing the squares together? I think sewing the parts together looks really pretty, but I just don't have the patience for it. I often join as I go. So when I crochet the last square the project it all done!

  3. I already commented on the discussion thread, but my favourite layout is the third one, although I also like the idea of a bright pink.

You need to love the project if you're going to be working on it each day so I think you should be happy with the colours before you do too much more.

  7. I like the 3rd layout, maybe because I like the chequered look...maybe some brighter pink would make it pop a bit more :)

  8. I really like the variagated ones but I think the plain pink draw your eye away from them too much.

What if you did the opposite of the variagated ones, with the pink on the outside?

Lets see the darker pink too :-) I join my squares with a needle and more yarn so it's not really a join as you go method. It took me a while to settle on what I preferred so experiment & see what you like :-)

  10. I like the colours, they're really pretty. I like the third pattern out of all of them, but like everyone else I think you should give the other pink too.
